An individual neuroscience research award for U.S. secondary-school students. Applications are open for the 2027 awards.
Eligibility & application
Grades 9–12 in a U.S. secondary school, regardless of age. Submit original research and your own written report; group projects are ineligible. A formal laboratory is not required. Family members of judges, AAN Science Committee members or AAN staff cannot apply. Parent/guardian, teacher and mentor signatures are required.

Three AAN winners receive $1,000 each; the separate Child Neurology Society prize awards a $1,000 honorarium. Meeting/travel benefits are conditional and differ by prize; consult the organizer.
