DECA Inc.

Source review: 2026-10-06 · Reviewed catalog; automatic source updates are not active yet

DECA competition sponsored by National Association of State Procurement Officials. Recommend a school or community procurement solution.

Eligibility & application

Two to four members of one DECA chapter; chapters may submit multiple entries. Required submission: Research a real school/community procurement problem and its stakeholders, compare suppliers, and justify costs and the proposed solution. Include an implementation schedule, budget/ROI, supplier selection, risks, impact metrics and an executive summary. All team members participate in a three-to-five-minute video with visuals aimed at decision-makers. The evaluation matrix/comparison tool must appear on screen, rather than as a separate document; videos over five minutes and late submissions are ineligible. Finalist participation: Top-three ICDC participation in Anaheim, California, April 17–20, 2027, depends on chartered association rules and school/chapter advisor approval. Entry does not guarantee conference attendance. No additional grade, age or citizenship requirement is established in these challenge rules; DECA membership and current organizer instructions still apply.
