DECA Inc.

Source review: 2026-10-06 · Reviewed catalog; automatic source updates are not active yet

DECA competition sponsored by National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Plan and execute a cause-marketing fundraiser.

Eligibility & application

DECA chapter members. The main instructions, sidebar and current overview allow one to four members, but the PDF introduction says up to three. Confirm the fourth-member rule with DECA/NPCF before forming a four-person team. Chapters may submit multiple entries. Required submission: Create an NPCF-branded, hopeful cause-marketing plan, include social-media advertising, register the fundraising campaign using the NPCF link in the rulebook, and execute it. The required YouTube video is at most four minutes and reports the campaign, amount raised, audience demographics and motivations, distribution and promotion. Fundraising is mandatory; a US$43 fundraising threshold earns extra incentives/points and is not an entry fee or an eligibility minimum. Optional NPCF facts can support the presentation. Finalist participation: Top-three ICDC participation in Anaheim, California, April 17–20, 2027, depends on chartered association rules and school/chapter advisor approval. Entry does not guarantee conference attendance. No additional grade, age or citizenship requirement is established in these challenge rules; DECA membership and current organizer instructions still apply.

Travel awards: top-three teams receive ICDC travel stipends of US$2,000, US$750 and US$500 respectively; advisor approval and conference attendance conditions apply. Additional incentive prizes/points require at least US$43 raised. Entry fees, membership dues, software access costs and finalist conference/travel charges are not established; confirm these separately with the chapter and organizer. These awards are not salary or a paid placement.
